MICHOACAN, MEXICO — The money sent home by Mexicans working abroad — mostly in the United States — is Mexico’s second largest source of income. Now some towns are investing those dollars to create infrastructure, jobs and financial security back home. Father Marcos Linares, a Catholic priest, is creating a future for his small town in Mexico by encouraging both residents and expatriates to invest in their community.
